When celebrity restaurateurs Lisa Vanderpump and husband Ken Todd were first shown harrowing videos and photos of helpless dogs being burnt, boiled and having their legs hacked off – while still alive – they were so upset they couldn’t sleep for days.

The disturbing images, captured at the annual Yulin dog meat festival, where 10,000 dogs are tortured, slaughtered and eaten each year in Guangxi, southern China, moved the couple to tears.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Online, Lisa and Ken talk about the launch and reveal their plans to put a stop to the Yulin festival while calling on the American public to lend their support.

Los Angeles Confidential recently asked 5 LA chefs for their best tips to host the perfect Easter fête. Rockwell Table & Stage’s Wayne Elias was one of the chefs who shared their secrets to host your own next-level easter soirée.

One of his main tips is to keep it simple and buffet style, saying “I like a buffet because you can serve room temp/cold dishes and only have two hot items that you can pre-cook hours before your guests arrive. I would serve a roast leg of lamb with garlic, rosemary, and lavender herbs; a bibb lettuce salad with English stilton cheese [and] zinfandel vinaigrette; mini Easter ham quiche tarts; asparagus wrapped with prosciutto; and a mustard tarragon dip. For drinks, I would do a vodka cosmo with a large jelly bean garnish on the side of the glass [or a] chocolate mint martini with a mini chocolate rabbit on the rim.”

Students to learn money management through music

Gooding, a band leader who goes by his last name only, is passionate about two things: money management and rock ‘n’ roll.

It sounds like an unusual combination, but for Gooding they go hand-in-hand. His rock band GOODING has been touring the country for three years teaching students about financial literacy through the power of music, and they’ll be making a stop at College of the Desert on March 28 at the Pollock Theatre. The stop is part of their Funding the Future tour, which is sponsored by Raymond James Financial. The March 28 concert is for COD students only. Students can attend for free.
