eVTOL flying vehicle company RYSE Aero Technologies have successfully launched the first manned flight of their ultralight RECON craft. The successful launch of multiple test flights began on June 27, 2022, in Cincinnati, Ohio. The test flights exceeded expectations and saw the RECON complete a seamless takeoff controlled hover, forward flight, pivot turn maneuvers, and a safe, smooth landing, performing optimally in a stable flight envelope.

BOONE, IOWA (DTN) — With six propellers and huge batteries, it looks like an oversized aerial drone, one that fell into the wrong tank of ooze.

“The reality is wow, while this has drone capabilities, but it’s beyond drones. It’s really an aerial ATV,” said Mick Kowitz, CEO of Ryse Aero Technologies, standing in front of his company’s Recon 2 prototype aircraft.
