gobankingrates.com – 14 Reasons You Didn’t Get a Call Back After a Job Interview

Getting called for a job interview — especially now, in an extremely difficult job market — is a major feat in itself. But of course, you want to make it to the next round or, even better, to get a call offering you the job. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work out that way. Sometimes you won’t get a call back due to something completely out of your control — but sometimes, it is something you said or did that could have cost you the gig.

GOBankingRates spoke to career experts and hiring managers to find out the possible reasons you didn’t make it past the interview round.

If you didn’t take the time to research the company you are interviewing with, this could be a red flag to your interviewer.

“It is critical to understand the company business, intention, history and mission,” said Joe Mullings, career expert and founder and CEO of The Mullings Group. “It is not uncommon for an executive to start out testing an interviewee with, ‘Tell me what you know about our company and what we do.’ It is a very fair question to see what research has been done in preparation for the interview session. The more that you are able to articulate an organization’s goals, mission and history, the more impressive you will be. It sets a serious tone and establishes a mindset of research, maturity and preparation — all critical characteristics that are evaluated during most interview processes.”

bustle.com – The State Of Long-Distance Relationships Months Into The Pandemic

Sara, 29, and her partner had been together for eight months — and were used to getting together three times a week — when he moved abroad for med school in January, making their relationship long-distance. “We had plans to see each other every other month in 2020 – until the pandemic hit, and we didn’t know when we’d see each other again,” she tells Bustle.

The uncertainty left her questioning whether her relationship would work in the long-term. “I was worried that if I didn’t see him for a whole year, I wouldn’t be able to keep ‘dating’ him through the phone,” she says.

For some couples, the future’s uncertainty has made it tough to maintain a long-distance relationship during the pandemic — and it’s why some, like Sara’s, can experience tension. “Without the relief of seeing one another, [they] have to manage a tremendous amount of longing, without the certainty of comfort, connection, or touch happening anytime soon,” Mollie Eliasof, LCSW, a relationship therapist, tells Bustle.

While Eliasof says many long-distance couples are well-versed in the art of spending time apart, they’ve still had to make changes to their routines, adjust their expectations, and make big decisions, especially as they approach the eighth month of travel restrictions and state-sanctioned quarantines.

spectrumnews1.com – New Holiday Drive-Thru Event Delivers Socially Distanced Cheer

VENTURA, Calif. — This year could easily have been a bit less merry and bright, but Vincenzo Giammanco wouldn’t have it.

Giammanco is founder of CBF Productions and, just like the guy in red, has been busy putting together a new way for families to celebrate the season in a safe, socially distanced setting.

Holidays in Your Car is 1.5 miles of merry. Giammanco describes it as a kind of “lazy river” experience, with cars winding slowly through the fairgrounds and coming across different displays, as holiday music plays through their stereos. There are classic fairy tales, elves, reindeer, and an entire section of animated construction vehicles all made out of light.
