Giacomo Gianniotti talks life during the pandemic, Black Lives Matter, marriage and My Friend’s Place organization. Grey’s Anatomy trending super star is no stranger to our screens, fans has been begging and pleading for a complete season. Due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19 production was shut down. Gianniotti stated that originally the filming was scheduled to be on hold for 2 weeks, then the rates of the coroavirus raised which lead them to take time off to master precaution.

Gianniotti mentions in on “Sessions with Steven” that he’s excited to be getting back to filming with his cast mates. Gianniotti stated that this will be an adjustmen for him and the whole production due to the social distancing restrictions. No dates yet on when “Grey’s Anatomy” will be back on our screens, however, they will start fairly soon.

abc7.com – ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star teams up with homeless outreach agency My Friend’s Place for virtual fundraiser

LOS ANGELES — “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Giacomo Gianniotti is joining forces with a long-standing organization that works to help homeless youth in Los Angeles.

The organization My Friend’s Place was forced to pivot away from its annual fundraising event due to the coronavirus pandemic and came up with something different to raise some much-needed money.

“It’s been five years I’ve been working with them and I couldn’t be more proud,” Gianniotti said.

On the show, Gianniotti plays a doctor who works to save lives. In a different way, he’s tried to do the same thing in real life outside of a hospital.

For 32 years now, the staff and volunteers with My Friend’s Place have helped people between the ages of 12 and 25 who are experiencing homeless. The goal is to get them on the right path to wellness, self-sufficiency, and ultimately, their own places to call home.

“Grey’s Anatomy” star Giacomo Gianniotti dished on some of the subjects the hit CBS show will tackle when it goes back into production for Season 17.

Talking to TooFab, the actor — who plays Dr. Andrew DeLuca — revealed the medical drama will be taking all the necessary coronavirus precautions while filming and that the story lines will reflect what the world is discovering as its new normal.

“When we start our season, we’re going to be about a month and a half into the COVID crisis,” the 31-year-old star began. “So, we know the disease, we know about it, the infections are high. We’ve had proper training and protocol and we’re just starting to think of it.”

Grey’s Anatomy has yet to begin production on season 17, but details are starting to trickle in on how the the series will unfold creatively. Series star Giacomo Gianniotti revealed to ET’s Katie Krause that the new season, which will feature a coronavirus storyline, will kick off “a month and a half” into the pandemic as the doctors of Grey Sloan adapt to their new reality.

“We’re going to start the season about a month and a half [into] full COVID, so it’s going to take place a little beyond where we left off in the last season,” Gianniotti said, though he hasn’t received any season 17 scripts. “We might have some flashbacks. We might have some things where we’re referencing last season, just to have context leading up. But we are going to have a little leap when we start this season in terms of time. We’re not picking up right where we left off.”

Another song that will feature on JoJo’s upcoming Good to Know deluxe edition is her new single “What U Need,” which drops Friday, Aug. 7.

The song comes out just in time for the upcoming My Friend’s Place Summer Festival, a virtual music and art fest that JoJo is performing in. The event will benefit the My Friend’s Place organization, which seeks to help those impacted by homelessness in Los Angeles.

“The issue of homelessness is one of the biggest that our city faces. And it’s particularly heartbreaking to me to see young people experiencing it. And I just know that any one of us is just one circumstance, one degree away from that being us,” JoJo shared. “The issue of homelessness is truly life or death.”

“So My Friend’s Place is making a serious difference here in Los Angeles with not only providing hope and creative outlets for these young people from ages of 12 to 25, but also actual substantial help with housing and food and education and childcare and job opportunities,” she added, “and giving them the tools to create their own path forward.”

In regard to what she’ll be performing as part of the festival’s kickoff event — Standing Together: A Virtual Concert —  JoJo shared, “A couple of my favorite songs from my new album and [I’ll be] just baring my soul, like I always try to do.”
