We’re here to introduce an incredible new project from Rei. It seemingly has continually evolved as we’ve been listening to it. The sound design to the vocals redefines music and opens up new sonic palettes we aren’t familiar with.

Born in Taipei and currently based in Houston, Rei has always been drawn to music. While initially taking the conventional corporate career path, working in advertising, and then moving into the mortgage industry, once she arrived in the United States, something always felt like it was missing. From her time working as an advertising executive dabbling a bit in creating jingles for brands such as Kleenex (which led to a recording contract in Taiwan), Rei’s passion for creating original music has grown.

With years of practice and performance under her belt, Rei is definitely an artist to keep an eye on. “Give Me a Little Jazz” is her latest tune and it delivers an incredible listen that gives the listener an uplifting feeling. Needless to say we’re excited for what’s to come. “My songs reflect the idea that while we’re all isolated to varying degrees both as individuals and groups, we’re all equal in our ability to appreciate music. I write songs with themes across different generations, genres, ethnicities, gender preferences, and social consciousness, from equality to the environmental crisis. Rei is a rising act hailing from Taiwan. No matter what form her music takes – advertising, songs, live performances – there’s a common theme of diversity and inclusion. “This is what I’ve learned about becoming an American. We’re a nation of immigrants with lots of different backgrounds, and too often, that causes conflict. But music makes us whole. It doesn’t matter what your color, your religion, or your country of origin might be. Music is our great equalizer and unifier. That’s what I’m hoping listeners will take away from my first album,” she says.
