gratefulweb.com – 311 DOUBLED THE FUN WITH TWO LIVE SETS AT CONCERTS IN YOUR CAR SERIES IN VENTURA

Three-eleven brought their funk drenched rap infused rock sounds to the Ventura Fairgrounds for the Concerts In Your Car series on November 14th. The boys from Omaha played two distinctive back-to-back shows drawing material from their thirteen studio albums and more.  Since last June, when CBF Productions launched the first drive-in live music experience in California at the Ventura Fairgrounds, there has been a rebirth of live music events on the south coast.

Many diverse acts have taken the stage at the venue, including Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Fitz, and The Tantrums, Los Lobos, Tower of Power, and Sublime. Three-eleven can now be added to the impressive list of seasoned performers. The band exploded onstage in a sound and lighting extravaganza for the first of two shows just after sunset. The band opened their 16 song setlist with one of their biggest hits, “Beautiful Disaster,” which inspired some in the car audience to honk their horns and others to dance on the hoods of their cars.

gobankingrates.com – The Biggest Salary Negotiation Mistakes You’re Making

With the unemployment rate at 6.9%, 12 million Americans are set to lose unemployment benefits at year’s end. And with the COVID-19 pandemic still going strong, it’s a very tough time to be looking for a new job. But don’t let the struggle inhibit you from doing what you can to get good pay and benefits. Even in a shaky economy, hiring managers expect candidates to negotiate terms.

“[E]ven with a much larger group of applicants, finding the right candidate for the role is more important than ever,” said Cynthia Spraggs, CEO of Virtira and author of “How To Work From Home And Actually Get SH*T Done: 50 Tips for Leaders and Professionals to Work Remotely and Outperform the Office.” “If you are one of the top candidates, know that we want you as much as you want us. Negotiate from that strength.”

Not only are you expected to negotiate, but failure to do so could not only hurt your career but also your prospective employer’s impressions of you.

gobankingrates.com – The Biggest Salary Negotiation Mistakes You’re Making

“COVID has led to reduction in salaries in organizations, therefore it will definitely impact merit increases moving forward since the baselines have moved backwards,” said Joe Mullings, founder, chairman and CEO of The Mullings Group.

“Other organizations have frozen merit increases across the board. As you look for a new role, it is reasonable to expect compensation levels at the pre-COVID levels, but you should definitely be prepared for organizations to keep salaries low until some sort of business horizon is established and those companies that have been prudently preserving cash may bring salaries back to pre-COVID levels.”

timeout.com – Find out where to see Christmas lights in L.A. this year

It’s hosted drive-in movies and concerts, and now the Ventura County Fairgrounds is adding another car-friendly series to its lineup: Christmas lights.

Starting November 22, Holidays In Your Car will, well, do exactly that and bring some seasonal festivities into a drive-thru setting. The mile-and-a-half-long trail mixes indoor elements (lasers and projections) with outdoor displays (light tunnels and freestanding characters).

Timed tickets cost $49 for a vehicle with up to four people in it, and $64 for five or more passengers. And if you’re farther south, look out for a similar event at the Del Mar Fairgrounds starting December 5.
