As my closest friends and family know, I am a die-hard fan of the Real Housewives franchise. It is my guilty pleasure TV and I love every moment of every episode. When I got the chance to interview Tanya Sam from Real Housewives of Atlanta, I was overjoyed. Not only because I am a huge fan of hers,but also because she is as amazing and real in person as she is on the show.

The name Tanya Sam might not ring a bell if your eyes are not glued to Bravo TV’s current season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” (RHOA) each Sunday night. But ask any avid viewer of the reality television show and you will know Sam has left her mark among the Georgia peaches. That, however, is only one of the many avatars of this Atlanta resident who is also lighting up the food and startup technology scene.
Born in Toronto, Sam was immersed in African and British culture and cuisine from childhood. Her father is from Ghana and her mother was English. “I had two very distinct and celebrated heritages while growing up that I am grateful for. They informed who I am in a significant way,” she says.
