Trailblazer Tanya Sam Keeps it Real Creating Industry Pathways for Female Entrepreneurs and People of Color

The name Tanya Sam might not ring a bell if your eyes are not glued to Bravo TV’s current season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” (RHOA) each Sunday night. But ask any avid viewer of the reality television show and you will know Sam has left her mark among the Georgia peaches. That, however, is only one of the many avatars of this Atlanta resident who is also lighting up the food and startup technology scene.

Born in Toronto, Sam was immersed in African and British culture and cuisine from childhood. Her father is from Ghana and her mother was English. “I had two very distinct and celebrated heritages while growing up that I am grateful for. They informed who I am in a significant way,” she says.

Fans head to TMS for big NASCAR race weekend

Race weekends at TMS are really all about the experiences. Fans make their way out to the track to have a good time.

FOX 4’s Shannon Murray talked to several fans who were up early Friday morning celebrating with music and a fire pit. They call themselves the Turn 2 Party Crew and said they’ve been going to the races at TMS for years.

Actor Who Battled Debilitating Illness Gives Back by Feeding Those in Need

Scooping out portions of peas might seem like a small duty, but it’s one Spencer Trinwith doesn’t take lightly.

“This I my forte, which is assembly, I mean all the roles are important, but we’re kind of the hotshots,” he joked.  “Here at Project Angel Food we are serving food for people who are affected by serious and critical illness.”

Jokes aside, and joke he often does, Trinwith appreciates all the food scooping here because there was a time when he couldn’t do any of this.

“I had a freakishly accelerated degenerative disk disease, that never gets easy to say, at my lower back. That left me disabled, couldn’t walk, sit, or stand,” he said. It was career-halting and life-changing all at once.
