John Hughes’ “Home Alone” was a box-office smash in 1990. Directed by Chris Columbus, it become a pop culture touchstone, defined a generation, spawned four sequels (of diminishing returns), and turned Macaulay Culkin into the biggest child star of the decade on its way to becoming the third-highest-grossing film of all time. All of which means it is ripe for spoofing, and the “Unauthorized Musical Parody Of ‘Home Alone” troupe nails it like they usually do, sending up the beloved film with affection while also skewering it with acidic wit.
The premise: Little Kevin McCallister (Natalie Lander) is surrounded by so many siblings that when the family heads to Paris for Christmas, no one notices that he’s not in tow. Luckily for them, that means Kevin can protect the house from bumbling burglars Marv (Sarah Wolter) and Harry (Bohely Quiroz).

On Sunday December 10th, I had a chance to catch a showing of Rockwell Table & Stage’s The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Home Alone, put on by executive producer Kate Pazakis.
Whether you’re a die-hard Home Alone fan or have seen the 1990 John Hughes movie enough to remember the plot, this musical parody offers a real holiday treat. (If for some reason you don’t remember, just watch the movie! Which I recommend regardless so it’s fresh in your brain.) Kate Pazakis, the creator of the unauthorized musical parody series, and co-writer Ray Wetmore manage to take the classic moments from the movie and fit them in seamlessly into a stage production. Simultaneously, they’re not afraid to ask and even answer some of the burning questions fans had for years – such as how did the McCallister’s afford a family vacation to Paris for Christmas. The show will be sure delight and make you laugh; unless you’re a grinch!

Dad-to-be? Aaron Carter opened up about his desire to have children and settle down during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly.
“I was thinking about adopting. I want kids so bad,” the former child star, 30, told Us Weekly in the new issue. Although he thought he wouldn’t survive to celebrate his 30th birthday, Carter told Us that he’s in a good place and is eager to start a family. “I turned 30 and I’m like, ‘Alright, my resolution is to have a kid.’ But not just a kid. A beautiful woman or man, because we can have kids too.”
Carter, who came out as bisexual last summer, added: “My goal is to be a father. I really want to be a dad and I want to transcend any of the shortcomings that my parents experienced growing up with us.”
