Edge Media Network review of Rockwell LA’s UMPO Home Alone

| December 19, 2017

John Hughes’ “Home Alone” was a box-office smash in 1990. Directed by Chris Columbus, it become a pop culture touchstone, defined a generation, spawned four sequels (of diminishing returns), and turned Macaulay Culkin into the biggest child star of the decade on its way to becoming the third-highest-grossing film of all time. All of which means it is ripe for spoofing, and the “Unauthorized Musical Parody Of ‘Home Alone” troupe nails it like they usually do, sending up the beloved film with affection while also skewering it with acidic wit.

The premise: Little Kevin McCallister (Natalie Lander) is surrounded by so many siblings that when the family heads to Paris for Christmas, no one notices that he’s not in tow. Luckily for them, that means Kevin can protect the house from bumbling burglars Marv (Sarah Wolter) and Harry (Bohely Quiroz).

Excellent review by AfterBuzz TV of the UMPO Home Alone at Rockwell LA

| December 18, 2017

On Sunday December 10th, I had a chance to catch a showing of Rockwell Table & Stage’s The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Home Alone, put on by executive producer Kate Pazakis.

Whether you’re a die-hard Home Alone fan or have seen the 1990 John Hughes movie enough to remember the plot, this musical parody offers a real holiday treat. (If for some reason you don’t remember, just watch the movie! Which I recommend regardless so it’s fresh in your brain.) Kate Pazakis, the creator of the unauthorized musical parody series, and co-writer Ray Wetmore manage to take the classic moments from the movie and fit them in seamlessly into a stage production. Simultaneously, they’re not afraid to ask and even answer some of the burning questions fans had for years – such as how did the McCallister’s afford a family vacation to Paris for Christmas. The show will be sure delight and make you laugh; unless you’re a grinch!

Another amazing review of Rockwell LA’s UMPO HOME ALONE by Alexis Joy VIP Access

| December 7, 2017

It’s the most wonderful time of the year filled with Christmas trees, tons of presents, and … a kid left HOME ALONE?!?! The holiday season is known for bringing tons of joy and cheer to everyone, but not the McCallisters. A trip to Paris sounded like a splendid Christmas celebration but things took a turn for the worse when the family forgot one important thing on their trip – no, it’s not their luggage or their boarding passes, it’s their son, Kevin! Home Alone is a classic, holiday movie. As soon as it hits December 1st, we love getting our hot chocolate and candy canes out and pulling up Home Alone on our TV screens. That’s why, when The Rockwell Table & Stage revealed that it will be bringing back Kate Pazakis’ extraordinary Unauthorized Musical Parody Of… Home Alone show, we couldn’t contain our excitement and we definitely ended up doing our very own surprised Kevin McCallister face.
