Author and Model Angela Martini: We, as a society, find excuses why we can’t have a certain life or a certain love, when actually everything is possible! Just believe in it and don’t ever victimize yourself

I had the pleasure to interview Angela Martini. Angela was born in Shkodër, Albania, but moved to Switzerland at the age of 10 before transplanting to the States. At 18 Angela signed with major modeling agencies, NEXT and Elite, walking in NYFW shows and landing herself in the 2008 edition of Sports Illustrated. Flash forward to 2010 where Angela competed in the Trump’s Miss Universe Pageant in Las Vegas, NV.

Theater Review: The Unauthorized Musical Parody of 10 Things I Hate About You at Rockwell Table & Stage

For the latest entry in the popular UMPO (Unauthorized Musical Parody Of) series at Rockwell Table & Stage, creator, writer, and executive producer Kate Pazakis has taken on 10 Things I Hate About You, the fan-favorite 1990s rom-com starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. And I promise you’ll be more than just “whelmed” by this hilarious show. It seems with each production, the UMPO series is zeroing in more and more on what works for this format, and with sharper jokes than ever, this is maybe their strongest show yet.

Jesse Kinch, Seaford’s newest musical rising star, is making a name for himself as he performs around the country. He hopes to expand his fan base even farther when he heads across the Atlantic to England for an international tour this summer.

Kinch, 24, performed at Rhythms Live Music Hall in Durham, N.C., last Friday, with a backup band comprising brother Rick Kinch on keyboards, Joe Nevolo on drums and bass player Larry Meyer. He will play the Blackthorn Music Festival in Manchester, England, July 19-21. The band, he said, is in talks with his record label, Nashville, Tenn.-based Curb Records, about other concert dates, perhaps including Australia, Japan or South Africa.

Unauthorized Musical Parody Series: 10 Things I Hate About You

The 1990s-2000s was a booming time for Shakespeare film adaptations aimed at teenagers. The success of 1996’s Romeo + Juliet spawned Get Over It, She’s the Man, Hamlet, O, and one of my favorite romantic-comedies, 10 Things I Hate About You. Putting Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger firmly in the spotlight, and promoting Joseph Gordon-Levitt from kooky kid actor to heartthrob, 10 Things was an instant classic for teenage girls in the ‘90s. It’s no wonder, then, that the highly successful Unauthorized Musical Parody (of) Series chose the film as its current show’s source material.
