Reflections on a “Narcissist” – Why a Trump Presidency scares the Bejesus out of this Psychologist

It’s no wonder the country is obsessed with the 2016 Presidential election. All of our basic Maslow-esque needs are in jeopardy. We need jobs, water, energy, and national security. We require a leader that can cross party lines and racial lines, but not someone whose main purpose is to self-aggrandize.

Some narcissism in a leader can be charming, but when it’s “HUGE,” we end up being the ones drowning in their reflection through their eventual aggression, big risk taking and unwillingness to compromise. Lisa Vanderpump ‘Reality TV Tour de Force’ on the Cover of Adweek

| Oct 10, 2016

Lisa Vanderpump isn’t what you’d call a typical housewife. More obvious descriptors would include businesswoman, style icon, activist and, of course, reality TV tour de force. But thanks to Bravo, it’s the title of housewife—or rather, Housewife—that’s made Vanderpump a brand name and national celebrity.

Kate, thank you for taking the time to chat withBroadwayWorld and myself.

THE UNAUTHORIZED MUSICAL PARODY OF HOCUS POCUS is your eighth UMPO production. What can we expect from this particular production?

We have definitely raised the bar in this production. The cast is stellar. I am so honored to have one of my favorite performers in this cast playing Winifred Sanderson – Tony Award winner, Marissa Jaret Winokur. When she won the Tony 13 years ago, I cried. I even cut out her picture and put it on my vision board that year. We are one week into rehearsal and I have to say, this just might be the best UMPO yet!

“Infidelity in a relationship is the ultimate betrayal. It’s the end of innocence and the beginning of a rough road to rebuild trust. You want to do everything possible to restore the bond that once was. You can go to couples counseling, talk about the affair, learn communication techniques, and understand the reason why the betrayal happened. Though these are good steps, they won’t rebuild trust by themselves.
